Very Dense Foam June 9, 2009 K. Brooks (Albuquerque, NM USA) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This seat cushion is very well made. The memory foam is dense so it doesn't collapse into nothingness when you sit on it, and it gives you very good support. It raises the seat about two inches, which can make getting up from the chair a lot easier.
OK for some uses. September 20, 2009 Bruce C. Douglas 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
This cushion is a good for some uses, such as sitting on a solid and hard surface. But if the shape of the surface is the problem, for example, an auto bucket seat, this pad doesn't help much because it simply assumes the shape of whatever it rests on. So if you are suffering sciatic nerve pain while sitting in a bucket seat, this may not help much. It is also harder than you might be expecting.
this is exactly what I wanted January 7, 2010 Georgia C. (Boston, MA USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I sit in an old wooden chair that I have for sentimental reasons. It is, however, wooden and I was going numb even sitting on top of a blanket after about 20 minutes. This cushion is PERFECT. It is rounded on one side and flat on the other, which is not totally clear in the photo which suggests it is more rectangular looking. I am 5'3" and found this cushion perfect, but be sure to check the dimensions if you think this will be an issue.
I recommend this cushion VERY HIGHLY. It is firm, as another reviewer pointed out, but I like this because if a chair is too soft I feel sort of unbalanced. It's not at all hard - just firm, like sitting on a very modern sofa. I really like it. I have not gone numb at all in the past few days. I don't know how I was sitting in that chair before.
The color of the cushion I received is more of a gray-blue, not a cobalt blue as in the photo.
Very Dense Memory Foam, But Could Be Slightly Larger Size September 23, 2009 Noah's Ark 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I just purchased this cushion and like it. I use it to supplement the seat of an old inexpensive reclining office chair that has excellent lumbar support but is not adequately padded on the seat (the chair is only rated for max of 5 hours of use per day). I spend over 10 hours a day on this chair and this cushion really makes it a pleasure to sit in this old chair again! The thickness is excellent, just enough to provide good cushioning without adding too much height.
If you remove the cover, it is plain to see it is indeed made of very dense (6lb) memory foam with a very thin molded foam bottom layer for structural integrity.
My only complaint is that it would be nice if it was at least 2 inches wider and 3 inches deeper so it would approximate the seating area of my office chair. At its current dimensions, it only covers the seating area of a traditional dining room chair.
Great solution for an adequate desk chair October 9, 2009 Kristin Delfau (Danbury, CT USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Like another reviewer, I had the problem that my desk chair's lumbar support is fine, but the seat pad is flat and I can feel the springs through it. So I bought this seat pad, which fits my chair nicely and serves the purpose well. It is definitely a reasonable alternative to purchasing a whole new chair. It is comfortable and I even forget that it is there after awhile. The cover material grips the chair well so it doesn't slide out from under you. Great product.
